vNOTES (vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery):
- Advanced minimally invasive gynecologic surgery
- Uses the vagina as a surgical access route
- With improved access and visualization
- Consists of a specialized instruments (and high-definition camera) that are placed through the vagina to the uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries without the need for abdominal incisions
- Combines the benefits of laparoscopic and traditional vaginal surgery

How it is performed:
- Under general anesthesia
- An incision in the vagina near the cervix is made
- vNOTES surgical instruments (with a video camera and light source) is placed through the incision
- Surgery needed is performed.

Contraindications of vNOTES:
- Contraindications to general anesthesia
- Pregnancy
- Have an active genitourinary infection
- History of pelvic inflammatory disease
- History of endometriosis
- History of rectal or extensive pelvic surgery.
