Uterine rupture:
Rare.
It usually happens during labor or as a result of abdominal trauma.
It also can be caused by congenital weakness of the uterus.


Risk factors:
a. Parity
b. Multiple gestation
c. Advanced maternal age
d. Dystocia
e. Placenta accreta


Also, malpresentation or induction of labor might increase the risk.


Complications:
a. Bladder laceration.
b. Severe hemorrhage
c. Infant death
d. Hysterectomy

In future pregnancies, cesarean delivery should be scheduled at week 36- 37.
