Bleeding Later in Pregnancy (Second and Third Trimester)

Bleeding during second and third trimester is less common.

In case of bleeding, the mother is given a shot of “Rh immune globulin” if Rh-negative and the father is Rh positive.


Bleeding later in pregnancy causes:

  1. Placenta Abruption.
  2. Placenta previa.
  3. Vasa Previa.
  4. Uterine Rupture.
