what is Sitz Bath:

Sitz Bath is used to relieve the pain of episiotomy and piles.

The patient socks her bottom in warm water +/- salt.

Sometimes using iodine can help to disinfect the area although most ladies prefer warm water. Cold water can be used if the patient wishes.
It is important to dry the area gently with a towel or using the hair dryer on cold air mode.
